James M. Breckenridge Award 

The James M. Breckenridge plaque is presented to students for the performance of a piece from each of the four stylistic eras: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Impressionistic/Contemporary. Pieces may be played in any order and are not required to be played in succession. Performance ratings must be a I+, I, or I- to qualify for this award.

Students must have State Achievement Audition critique sheets from the first three years and the District Achievement Audition critique sheet from the fourth year.

Students who were affected by the cancellation of the 2020 State Achievement Audition will receive a “bye” for the State Achievement Audition critique needed for the 2020 year. Critiques will be accepted for three out of the four required years.
