About OMTA

The Oklahoma Music Teachers Association (OMTA) is dedicated to promoting the growth and professional development of its members by providing programs that encourage and support high professional standards of teaching, performance, composition and research. Organized in 1929, our non-profit organization is affiliated with Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and abides by their Code of Ethics. Together we are working for a “… more musical tomorrow.” We invite you to explore our website for more information about our programs for music teachers and students. You are extended a warm welcome to join us in our quest for musical excellence!

In 1876, Theodore Presser and sixty-two of his colleagues founded the Music Teachers National Association with the purpose of advancing the value of music study and music-making to society while supporting the careers and professionalism of teachers of music.
