OMTA Theory Progress Award – DEADLINE April 15th at 3:00 pm
The OMTA Theory Progress Award is designed to recognize graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding progress in their understanding of music theory. This award particularly benefits late beginners as well as students engaged in instrumental or voice studies. Students are permitted to complete up to two theory test levels in one academic year to meet the necessary criteria. It is important to note that students may not receive both the Claudia Busse Theory Award and the OMTA Theory Progress Award.
Students must attain the following requirements:
- Candidates must be graduating high school seniors
- The starting theory test level must be minimum of Level 4
- Students must demonstrate advancement each year for a duration of five consecutive years
- A minimum total grade of 90% or higher is required for each theory test level
Theory test scores will be verified before an award letter is emailed to the teacher.
The plaque award will be presented to each verified student at the State Achievement Audition in May.
