Theory Test Administration

THEORY TEST ADMINISTRATION:

Please embrace the OMTA spirit by reaching out to offer assistance to other OMTA teachers in your community. We can do this TOGETHER!!

Required– 9X12 Clasp Envelopes for the purpose of reusing to distribute awards NO STUDY AIDES ALLOWED DURING TESTING/ NO LICKING ENVELOPES 

For All Theory Entrants:

Theory tests may be administered to your students in one of three ways: in person, partnering with another teacher, or via zoom.

OPTION 1: IN PERSON 

TEACHERS: 
Purchase 9X12 clasp envelopes for each student.
Print and staple appropriate test for each student.
Write each student’s name on page 1 and the outside of the envelope.
Administer the test (Aural as well) in a quiet location at your studio.
Put test in unsealed clasp envelope.
Follow directions given to you by District Chair to return tests for grading purposes. DO NOT GRADE TESTS/ DO NOT SEAL ENVELOPES 

OPTION 2: PARTNER UP 

TEACHERS: 
Purchase 9X12 clasp envelopes for each student.
Print and staple appropriate test for each student.
Write each student’s name on page 1 and the outside of the envelope.
Partner up with another teacher! Find a location/ day/ time…. And administer tests (Aural as well) in a quiet location.
Put test in unsealed clasp envelope.
Follow directions given to you by District Chair to return tests for grading purposes.
DO NOT GRADE TESTS/ DO NOT SEAL ENVELOPES 

OPTION 3: ZOOM 

This option requires the help of a parent, or other responsible adult. 

TEACHERS: 
Purchase 9X12 clasp envelopes for each student.
Print and staple appropriate test for each student.
Write each student’s name on page 1 and the outside of the envelope.
Put each test in 9X12 unsealed envelope.
Put envelopes in box outside teacher’s studio for pick up by parents.
Parents will return unsealed test to you.
Follow directions given to you by District Chair to return tests for grading purposes. DO NOT GRADE TESTS/ DO NOT SEAL ENVELOPES 

PARENTS: 
Pick up student clasp envelope from teacher’s porch.
Keep test in a safe place away from the student until ZOOM session with teacher
Provide each student with 2 sharpened pencils with good erasers.
During Zoom session, hand the test to the student.
Student must sit at a table in a quiet location, and be visible on Zoom during the test session. Please sit at the table and be available if any assistance is required (technology/sharpening pencils/ monitoring).
After the student finishes the test, the student will put the test in the unsealed envelope and hand to the parent. DO NOT SEAL ENVELOPES.
Keep the test in a safe location and return to the teacher. 

ADMINISTERING THE TEST VIA ZOOM: 

Send out a Zoom link to the students stating time and date of Zoom theory test. Teachers must be prepared to administer the Aural Test as well.
Parents will hand the envelope to the students when instructed by the teacher. Teacher must observe students taking the test via Zoom. 
After the student finishes the test, the student will put in the unsealed envelope and hand to the parent.
Parents will give the unsealed test to the teacher.
